Guest composer Shirl Atwell will be visiting the Valley Orchestra on Tuesday, February 12th (today) during 2nd Period to work with the students on a piece that she composed titled 

Handelian. This is an incredibly rare opportunity for our students to work first-hand with the composer of a piece of music. Please do not call students out of class during this period. The students are preparing this piece for the adjudicated event KMEA Assessment on March 15th that we will be hosting here at Valley, and this opportunity will deepen their learning and enhance their performance.

The Valley Library is celebrating Black History Month throughout February. Check out the page on our website with books in our library catalog that spotlight African-American history and works by African-American authors.
