First Day of School

Remember to follow Attendance Protocols and Student Head Count (1st period) directions from Jamie Vincent.  (See Green Paper)
Attendance
Ms Vincent ext 2606

Attendance for every period must be saved within the first 10 minutes of class.
First Period of the day:

  • Collect all Student absence notes (place in provided envelope) during the first 10 minutes. (office Aide comes to collect)
  • Student’s absence note: fill out a Blue Slip (provided in your Teacher Bag) and give to the student for them to provide to the rest of their teachers.
  • Tape envelope to the outside of your door, an office aide will pick the envelope up and return it to you by the end of the day. (they will slide it under your door)
  • They are either absent or present.
  • If the student is entering the 1st period of the day late they will have a yellow/pink (we switch because students manage to steal them) Tardy note from Ms Vincent. Their attendance will be corrected by Ms Vincent to reflect their sign in time.
  • If a student is late to the first period of the day with a note from someone other than Ms Vincent, (and you have already locked down your attendance), email Ms Vincent to have it corrected.
  • Head count comes directly from 1st period.  When you lock down your attendance (with in the 1st ten minutes of class) it sends your numbers directly to me in the Student Head Count system.
  • Anyone you have marked absent I must verify, so I will be calling you.  You may also have an Admin stop by your room to verify.
  • If someone comes in late please call me ASAP (if they do NOT have a tardy slip from me)

No student may be marked Tardy for 1st period of the day

You may make corrections to attendance for every period EXCEPT for the first period of the day, only Ms Vincent can correct that period for you.  Email is the fastest way to communicate corrections.

Attendance Codes:
AU-Absent Unexcused
AX-Absent Excused
2F-FieldTrip
HH-Home Hospital
3I-Isap

*A few new teachers may not have rights to IC by the 1st day, do not worry I will call you and save your attendance*

Remember to present the School Wide Expectations each class period and your passports!
